1. Topic: LIFE IN A CAVE

2. Contents: PALEO DIET, ATTACHMENT PARENTING AND CAVE ART

3. Driving question: DO YOU WANT TO CROWL THROUGH THE TUNNEL INTO AN INMENSE, DARK CAVE?

4. Cooperative techniques:

4.0. Construction of a cave with egg cartons

4.1. Paleo diet: CAVEMAN DIET: Make a food list of paleo diet, with allowed and not allowed food. Allowed: meat, vegetables, fish, oil, fats, nuts and fruits. Not allowed: dairy, soft drinks, fruit juices, legumes, grains, fatty, meats, salty foods, starchy vegetables, snacks, energy drink and sweets.

4.2. Attachment parenting: speak about human infants and their mothers forming a close bond. How children seemed to do best when they have three secure relationships. And, how women evolved to be opportunistic in their use of others as alloparents, or people who help out with child care.

4.3. Cave art:

a) Using and old empty bottle with a spray top, fill with watery paint and spray your hand on paper to make your own cave art, or use an old toothbrush.
b) Have each student sketch his or her own loose gesture drawing of an animal, such as a horse, bison or gnu.
Photocopy each student's sketch onto acetate so that it may be projected.
