1. The topic would be "charities and campaigning".
2. Contents:
Grammar: Modal verbs, conditionals
Vocabulary: Feelings, charity and campaigning
- Descriptive task: Explain what a helpful charity is.
- Evaluation task: Choose which kind of charity would be more useful for your community.
- Creative task: Create a charity (of the kind that has come out of the previous task)
- Design task: Come up with a way to give visibility to your charity.
- Present task: Present and launch your charity (using all the materials and ideas generated in the previous tasks)
3. Driving question: How could we help people in need in Segovia?
4. Some cooperative techniques that would be used:
- Round Robin: This strategy would be used in the descriptive task, where students would brainstorm and take notes together first. Then, a ball would be tossed around to take turns sharing what they have thought about and what they know before writing their thoughts down.
- Spend-a-buck description: This strategy would be helpful for the evaluation task, where students need to make a decision about the type of charity they want to launch in their school. They would use chips to analyse and evaluate which could be the best and why. They would be continuously reminded to be kind, clear and specific.
