4. COOPERATIVE TECHNIQUES:
First of all, it is importante to determine the proficiency level or four students. Therefore the level for this specific exercise will be set for second grade students of secondary school.
The main objective of the activity will be to present the research that they had to prepare about different instruments, from different families and countries.
In the Classroom: paper and post-it notes. This activity can also take place online
by making use of digital canvases or shared documents. The teacher puts large sheets of paper with questions or topics in different places in the classroom and divides the class into the groups equal to the number of sheets. Each groups gets 5-10 minutes to brainstorm ideas on the topic. When the time is up, they move to another poster. Each poster has a different country, it can be the name or his shape. They have to write what instruments they know from each one.
Then, students analyse data and create an infographic poster which visualizes and summarizes the core components as well as the logical relations between the components. Each small group of student will prepare the presentation about a country given by the teacher. The instruments must be classified by families (wind, percussion or string).
After that, students are required to present their group project findings in a mini‐conference. They will present it in 20 minutes, showing their infographic to the rest of the class.
To evaluate, a short, ungraded online quiz to check for understanding (kahoot or quizziz). Students can discuss their answers in pairs before answering. Both students and the teacher receive immediate feedback. Depending on the type of quiz (with questions displayed on the main screen or on students' devices only), the teacher can provide general feedback for the whole class group or students can work independently on the feedback provided on their screens. It deals with listening activity guided by the teacher. The teacher will present (with kahoot or quizziz tool) different instruments, and students will recognize the family, instrument and country.
These are motivating activities which will help the students by reviewing the contents of the area, using the visual poster that they had to elaborated with this tool.
